Writing With Paula Workshop
Cimarron Alliance Equality Center will be offering a weekly workshop for aspiring writers. All genres welcome: fiction, poetry, drama, creative nonfiction. Whether you’re trying to write a compilation of poetry, the next potboiler thriller, or the Great American Novel, our group will offer encouragement, positive feedback, and constructive criticism. In time, we hope to establish Oklahoma’s first literary magazine featuring the work of lgbt writers and themes.
The group facilitator will be Paula Sophia Schonauer, the author of “Shadowboxer” a novel published by Etopia Press in December 2011. Her work has appeared in numerous literary magazines including The Molotov Cocktail, Wilde Magazine, The Bicycle Review, Scissors and Spackle, and Crack the Spine. She’s won honorable mentions in the Short Story America Prize Competition (2012) and New Millennium Writings (2013). Snap Judgement, an award winning radio show on NPR and Public Radio International, featured her story “Tough as Nails” in 2012. Paula has also been a frequent contributor to The Gayly and Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Report.
